The consumption of fuel and wood charcoal in Ghana is estimated at over 25million m3 per year. Wood fuels (fuel wood and wood charcoal) accounts for about 60% of the country’s total annual energy consumption.
The consumption of wood charcoal is projected to grow at a total of 60% annually. Fuel wood consumption is expected to increase at the same rate. This will lead to a huge drain on the country’s forest resources which are already depleted.
An alternative cheaper and environmentally friendly source of fuel is SAWDUST BRIQUETTE. This product is manufactured right here in Ghana by Energy Pool Ltd from sawdust which for a longtime has been considered as a waste product.
History
Energy Pool Ltd (EPL) is a private limited liability company incorporated in May 2004 to provide cheap source of fuel for domestic and industrial use both for the local and export markets. EPL currently produces by extrusion process carbonized and semi- carbonized, clean and smokeless briquettes from sawdust without any starch binder. Our state of the art manufacturing plant is at Kumasi (Ashanti Region) the center of Ghana’s saw milling industry.
